Fam-Bands..

Postby weekdaywarriors on Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:10 pm

Hi All,

Currently Pauline and I are working on the 24th Round of the Weekend Warriors and we have been looking forward to the day we could put a Junior Warrior band through the program. We have put a couple of juniors through that have been sons and daughters of current warriors and we do feel like the program have completed the circle in this way.

We are pretty sure that we will have a couple of junior warrior bands in this round and what is even more exciting is that it looks like there will be some family members going through together and we have been calling these combinations, Fam-Bands.. I did want others to know what was happening and get your thoughts on such a thing.

Do you think the Junior Warriors and Fam-Bands are good concepts? Are you interested yourself? Any feedback would be appreciated?

Cheers,
Bob

Hello Bob,

Getting younger people in will certainly broaden the repertoire!

hI Bobby and Al

I went and plugged the fam bands idea (great idea Bob) to broaden the age groups as well.

I mean - what about the 15 year old drummer - female - last round!! How good was that??

She had a go and the band enjoyed it too...

Never too YOUNG to play with the young at heart!! ;-)
Awaken the music from within - don't die with the music in you. Rock trumps Country every time (tell Bob will ya?)

We tried but found it was difficult to get junior bass players.. family members can go through together and all in all, most of the younger players enjoy going through with geriatrics, er, I mean mature players.

Cheers,
Bob

It sounded like a great idea. As long as the Kids are playing that is what is important.
