Urban Country Festival Talent Search..

Postby Bobbimac on Thu May 10, 2007 7:08 am

Road Works entered the Senior section of the Talent search and were easily the oldest competitors and oneof very few bands. The house band were superb and really gave the solo, dup and trio vocal groups a real leg up in the sound stakes.

We were shifted around on the program and let down with the equipment on stage but we jumped up and performed one of our favourite pub country rock songs, "To Her Door", and captured the attention and appreciation of the crowd and won our place in the finals.

At the grand final the announcer explained that the contest was to help 16 - 23 year olds get a start in the industry so our confidence plummeted :( However we were there to do our best and we gave our all and were very satisfied with our performance.

I don't think we will do another but we at least now have some credibility within country music circles and even Dodgy has begun to show me grudging respect for having a go. He's at least stopped spitting in my direction when I mention country music (over and over and over again) :)

Cheers,
Bob
Best wishes,
Bobbi Mac
