Well we learn as we go. Bands need to book their own gigs as there can be a lot of toing and froing. I tried to set up a permanent Beergarden thingee in the inner city fringe but the end result was that we were to do a trial after a Broncos Sunday home game.

Of course they then had weeks of Friday night games or away games and the one Sunday game they did have was missed by both sides :( Then we were to wait till it warmed up a bit and then the person to handle entertainment changed jobs and we were to start all over again.

I guess the gigs needed to start straight away and both sides need to have their act tgether. The 2nd place I had in mind was a country pub but in the end they didn't really want to pay more than a pittance. The 3rd place was the Big Fish Tavern and they gave us a trial and we got a few bookings for paid gigs out of it.

Warrior bands are welcome to contact the pub for gigs but they are booked out until next year. I guess its better for Ellaways to provide playng opportunities to prepare bands for the big wide world and to give some established bands a chance to play in front of audiences when gigs are a long time between drinks.

Cheers,
Bob
